Kolašin (Montenegrin and Serbian Cyrillic: Колашин), is a town in northern Montenegro. It has a population of 2,989 and is the unofficial centre of Morača region, named after Morača River. Kolašin is one of the centres of Montenegro's mountain tourism. The city has the advantage of being easily accessible by road and rail, and it is connected with the rest of Montenegro by two-laned motorways. It is situated on the main highway connecting Montenegro's coast and Podgorica with northern Montenegro and Serbia (E65, E80). Kolašin is also a station on Belgrade–Bar railway. Podgorica Airport is 80 km away and offers regular flights to major European destinations.

 

Žabljak (Montenegrin and Serbian Cyrillic: Жабљак) is a small town in northern Montenegro. It has a population of 1,723. Žabljak is in the centre of the Durmitor mountain region. With an altitude of 1,456 metres, it is the highest situated city on the Balkans. The entire area of Durmitor mountain is a national park, and it offers excellent possibilities for winter and summer mountain tourism as well. Among the primary tourist attractions of Durmitor are 18 glacier lakes; Durmitor's slopes are also becoming more popular among snowboarders. Tourists can enjoy the following activities in Žabljak

 

  • Skiing - Durmitor's snow cover lasts four months per year, with famous slopes such as Savin Kuk, Štuoc and Javorovača.
  • Rafting - the 1300 m deep Tara River canyon is the second deepest in the world and is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. 
  • Mountaineering - Durmitor's conditions are perfect for this sport.
  • Hiking - The surrounding area provides decent hiking paths.
  • Mountain Biking-Side-hills of Durmitor are perfect for biking while enjoying the view.

 

Budva (Montenegrin Cyrillic and Serbian Cyrillic: Будва), is a town on the Adriatic Sea and has almost 20,000 inhabitants. The so-called Budva-riviera is one of the major attractions of Montenegro, the 2,500 years old city with the medieval walls and sandy beaches is one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. Tourism is the primary source of income in Budva. It is one of the most important tourist destinations on the eastern Adriatic Sea and by far the most favoured tourist destinations of the country. Budva attracts 44,8% of tourist visits to Montenegro.
