Anguilla Residency by Investment Programme In the past five Caribbean island nations launched citizenship by investment programs, now Anguilla introduced a new residency by investment scheme called "ARBI". The purpose of the programme, according to the government's statement is to encourage visitors to become permanent residents through a "significant financial investment". Meanwhile, the investors will strengthen the local real estate market and will allow the government to invest in priority projects.

What are the benefits of the Anguilla residency by investment programme?

First of all those visitors will find the scheme attractive, who know the island and who wish to "formally make Anguilla their second home". They will have the right to live there without immigration control. Anguilla is also a well-known low-tax jurisdiction, as it allows its residents to live abroad, but use their resident status for tax planning. Meanwhile, the quality of the air air perfect, the sea is clear; the climate is tropical, the food, the people and the beaches are amazing. Perhaps the most important benefit is that participants of the residency by investment programme can become British Overseas Territories Citizens and even British Citizens. However, this route is only accessible for those residents who reside physically nine months per year a consecutive five years period. Becoming a British Overseas Citizen is one of the most challenging processes, and this program is the most straightforward way to obtain it. Interestingly, until the end of 2018, even those candidates can apply, who invested before the introduction of the residency by investment programme but were unable to obtain the residence permit on time. From 2019, all "Residency Pathways" are open. Investment options of the Anguilla Residency by Investment Programme (ARBI)
  • Capital investment
  • Real estate investment
  • Tax residency
In the case of the real estate option, applicants must invest 750,000 USD in property, including the land on which the real estate is located. This minimum amount includes the application for up to four persons. The qualifying amount for the Capital investment option is 150,000 USD in the Capital Development Fund of the government of Anguilla. The Tax Residency option is currently in the planning process.
